MAKER

DESIGNER

hi, my name is Bob Verheij

and I am from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

I graduated from the TU Delft in 2017, after following the MSc Programme Design for Interaction. Most often I work with laser cutting machines, experimenting new possibilities in the field of graphic design.

The projects I present on this website are in the range of laser cutting explorations, graphic designs, animations, product design and business concepts.

laser cutting explorations: nagasaki ondekoza

Demon Drums Experiments

A vinyl record of old Japanese drum music showed demon figures playing different instruments. This artwork stayed in my mind over a long time, which meant that I started vectorizing the demons, using them in several graphic design. Aside from lamp designs, these explorations with extending wavy patterns made the cut, literally.

these artworks are available in A5 and A6 sizes, but can be made in any material and size

business concept: mobile tap unit for nitro brew coffee

Stoute Koffie

A trip to Colombia led me to taste a nitro coffee made with the best beans of the region. Back at home I started to recreate the experience and this lead to the start of the company called Stoute Koffie. Together with Samuel Verburg I sell nitro brew coffees; coffee that you drink just as a beer. Drafted from a tap, ice cold, but with a serious caffeine kick.

product design: fenix ntm arpa matte table

Arpa FENIX Table

While experimenting with some samples obtained from Arpa Netherlands, I got the idea to make a minimalistic coffee table. The material is ultra matte, stain proof and just looks amazing.

size: 750x450mm

for sale.

poster design: voting rights festival leiden /w liesepien

Kiesrecht Festival

In 2017 and 2019, @liesepien and I collaborated in designing the logo, poster and timetable for a small political festival in Leiden about the 100 year voting rights and the 100 year female voting rights. The design resembles empowerment of the public with a balled fist and a voting pencil.

printed for posters around town and for online use.

research: graduation project - help make the cut

Graduation Project Design for Interaction

For my graduation project for the TU Delft I explored in what way laser cutting can better support the creative design processes of students. First, by understanding the design process and second by exploring ways in which students can be assisted when making crucial design decisions.

This lead to the design of a platform on which students could detail their design choices at specific steps of their laser cutting projects. For the full report click here.
